Today’s Collect and Scriptures

Collect: Mary and Martha of Bethany
O God, heavenly Father, your Son Jesus Christ enjoyed rest and refreshment in the home of Mary and Martha of Bethany: Give us the will to love you, open our hearts to hear you, and strengthen our hands to serve you in others for his sake; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Lesson: Romans 12:9-13  Berean Study Bible
Love, Zeal, Hope, Hospitality
Romans 12:9-13
9Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another.

11Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer.

13Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Gospel: Matthew 14:13-21 (for PENTECOST IX A)

PLEASE NOTE:

We are Reopening Slowly! In-person Worship services started on the weekend of June 27/28.

For more information about reopening, please click to read the  REOPENING eNewsletter.

To comply with social distancing guidelines, we’ve planned for 4 services over each week during the summer:

  • 5 pm Saturdays
  • 8 am Sundays
  • 9:30 am Sundays (with music)
  • 11:15 am Sundays, starts in September, if needed
  • and 11:00 am Wednesdays

This is really just one more service than we had in the past. The new 11:15 am Sunday service starting in the fall is intended to handle overflow from the 9:30 am family service on Sunday mornings.

Over the summer months, all ministers at the liturgy will have an opportunity to attend and work through procedures for sub-deacons, lectors, acolytes, ushers, music, etc. in preparation for the official “Welcome Back” in the fall.

Online Worship Services will continue to be available on our Facebook page and here on our website until further notice.
