From: Deacon Trisha Thorme, Holy Apostles Episcopal Church
Dear people of Holy Apostles’,
As a church and society we are changing many of our practices to limit the spread of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. This is true for our Gleanings meal ministry on Tuesday nights as well. We will continue to serve meals but under the conditions that follow.
- No eat-in service. All meals will be packaged for takeout and handed out at the door.
- Limited number of volunteers, who must sign up in advance. I will only need four volunteers each week, who must sign up in advance by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not sign up by 5 pm on Monday (and then receive a confirmation from me) I will send you home. Volunteers should arrive by 4:15.
- Only individually wrapped, store-bought desserts. We greatly appreciate the efforts of our home bakers, but for the duration of this crisis we will only give out pre-packaged, store-bought desserts. If you would like to donate some, please bring them to the church between 4:30 and 5:30 on Tuesdays.
All of these measures are an expression of care for the vulnerable. I appreciate all of your help building God’s kingdom of love and ask that you keep our guests and their loved ones in your prayers.
